Feed acidification has been strongly recommended internationally as an effective replacement for Antimicrobial Growth Promoters (AGPs) in the poultry feed. H-Plus is a novel feed supplement intended to control intestinal overgrowth of Gram positive as well as Gram negative pathogenic bacteria. Proper management of microflora in the gut of the poultry demands controlling colonization and proliferation of enteropathogens thus supporting establishment of desirable bacteria like lactobacilli. Undissociated organic and inorganic acids in H-Plus ensure maintenance of correct pH through all parts of the small intestine, thereby bringing about effective gut microflora management in the poultry.
H-Plus is a feed supplement comprising undissociated organic and inorganic acids on a suitable inert carrier. Acids present in H-Plus remain undissociated in the upper digestive tract and as they enter the small intestine, they start acting upon pathogenic bacteria like E.coli, Salmonella, Clostridium and Listeria. Acids cross the cell barriers of these pathogens in an undissociated form and in the alkaline cytoplasmic microenvironment they dissociate producing H+ ions (Hydrogen ions) These H+ ions make the cytoplasm acidic, leading to inactivation of vital metabolic processes followed by the cell death. Desirable bateria like lactobacilli and bifidobacteria in the intestine can easily tolerate this action and do not get affected by it.
Composition
H-Plus is a blend of inorganic and organic acids in undissociated form on an inert carrier to ensure the protection of acids till they reach the small intestine of the bird.
