The concept of using enzymes in poultry feed to bring about highest utilization of nutrients trapped in the vegetable feed ingredients has taken firm roots. Incorporating specific enzymes enables the nutritionist to optimize the cost & performance of birds. Maxigrain is blend of the most relevant digestive enzymes to serve this purpose.
Availability of Phosphorous : The phosphorous present in cereal feed is mostly entrapped in phytate residues. The chicken digestive juices lack the enzyme phytase necessary to liberate the phosphorous for absorption by the gut wall. Hence Dicalcium phosphate (DCP) or Tricalcium phosphate (TCP) is added to fulfill the phosphorus requirement of the chicken.

Addition of phytase enzyme in measured quantity can considerably bring down incorporation levels of external phosphorous sources.
Breaking down NSPs : Most of the vegetable feed stuffs like maize, soymeal, jowar, bajra, wheat, rice, rice products, sunflower cake, ground nut cake, rapeseed meal, sesame meal etc. inherently contain certain level of cell wall carbohydrate residues which are known as nonstarch poly saccharides (NSPs) .
These soluble NSPs have a strong antinutritional effect by way of increasing the viscocity leads to inadequate absorption of nutrients, impaired peristaltic progress of chime through the intestine causing flatulence and bacterial overgrowth. This is evidenced by loose or sticky droppings causing serious hygiene problems. These problems can be solved by incorporation of measured quantities of NSP digesting enzymes like cellulases (i.e. xylanase ) , and pectinases in the poultry rations.
Polchem Hygiene Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. provides a range of enzymes and enzyme blends under the name Maxigrain. This range includes enzymes either in predesigned blends or in tailor-made blends or as individual enzymes.
