Polychlor is a two component potent sanitizer system that generates stabilized Chlorine dioxide (CIO2) solution. Chlorine dioxide is known to be a potent sanitizer since old days, however there has been a renewed interest in this product on account of its high efficaciousness and very low environmental toxicity. Polychlor comprises of two components viz. stabilized chlorine dioxide solution (un-activated) and activator powder. The final stabilized and activated CIO2 solution needs to be reconstituted prior to the application. Stabilized CIO2 solution is one of the few chemicals cleared by EPA as a safe sanitizer for drinking water, food processing, poltry and live stock farming. CIO2 solution liberates CIO2 and CIO3 radicals which efficiently destroy gram positive and negative bacteria, spores, molds and sheathed and unsheathed viruses.
